Our day started early, we need to travel back to Kuala Lumpur. Woke up 5am, showered and ate breakfast before heading to our pick up point. We were several minutes early of our 6:30am pick up time.
The bus is pretty much the same with the bus we had from KL to SG. We were joined 2 other passengers and the driver. That means from SG all the way to KL, there were just 6 of us inside the bus.
I slept almost the entire trip back to KL. I woke up as we were close to KL then Mommy and Joy said they were just talking anything in random most of the time.
We arrived KL around lunch time, had lunch and then went straight to Regalia Luxury Suites to check in.
We came up to Regalia’s infinity pool to have a good look of the Twin Tower and KL tower.
We then looked for Pinoy food because Mommy is craving for it. Good thing Kota Raya mall has it. I had a full stomach too.
Then we headed to the twin Tower.
Wow. The towers are just so amazing, massive, impressive and overwhelming. It’s been my dream to see this famous tower and the presence of Joy and Mommy made it all so worth.
Then we headed back to our hotel to sleep early for our day 4 adventure.
Agenda for this day is Chinatown and Flower Dome. We slept the whole morning after our land trip from Kuala Lumpur. We decided to start our day after lunch because we made sure Mommy got enough sleep to last the endless walking.
Let the adventure begins.
We rode a bus from Hazel’s place; stopped at Little India bus stop and from there rode the train to Lucky Chinatown. Mommy wanted to buy some keychains, ref magnets and other souvenirs that she can find. I also had my PhP money exchanged to SG dollar here.
Some pictures as we head to the street market where we can buy the souvenir items.
After mommy got the items she needed we rode a train again going to Gardens by the Bay. From the station we walked all the way to the Flower Dome.
Here are some snaps while on our way to the Flower Dome.
I booked the ticket for Flower Dome and Cloud Forest at Klook a week before our trip. Printed our voucher and just presented it to the entrance personnel. That’s it, hassle free.
As my mommy walked to the door of the Flower Dome I had my camera ready to capture her reaction.
Now be the judge as I show some of my shots of her as she happily admire the beauty around her.
I just can’t stop taking pictures and videos of her. I got teary eyed. I’m in cloud 9 knowing that she’s truly happy we brought her there.
The feeling I had the first time I was here last March 2016 was entirely different compared to this time with my Mommy. I totally saw the grandeur and beauty of the dome through my Mommy’s happiness. That every flower I saw in every corner was just so beautiful and breathtaking.
How can you not smile looking at her this happy!
We then went to the Cloud Forest. We saw a man-made tall structure with plants all over. There’s a waterfall pouring all the way down. It’s an impressive creation, no doubt. You can actually go all the way up but Mommy doesn’t want to go. So we decided to go out and had some coffee and fries at the nearby Mcdonalds.
We walked all the way to where the Supertree Grove is and saw a huge crowd sitting and lying on the ground. We were just right on time to find a good spot to stay while waiting for the display of light and the sound of music.
It was so cool to experience lively music while seeing dancing lights all over the giant trees. I never experienced it the first I was here. I enjoyed it the most since I was there with my cousin and my Mommy.
After the light show, we walked all the to The Shoppe at Marina Bay. We arrived 30 minutes before the 9pm fountain show.
It’s a fantastic laser show with impressive water fountains. Perfect way to end our Singapore adventure.
But of course some touristy shots.
We went back to Hazel’s place very satisfied with our day and with a happy heart.
We planned to go back to Kuala Lumpur by midnight, but we arrived at Hazel’s around 11pm and we didn’t know that bus ride back to KL from SG needed to be booked in advance. We just stayed the night and booked the 6:30am trip the next day.
My first out of country trip was in Singapore, it happened last March 2016. I visited Flower Dome at that time. I was not so engrossed with it. Don’t get me wrong, I like flowers but not to a point where I get so excited with it. But I know someone so dear to me who will go crazy and will be 100% happy to see it. I’m talking about my aunt whom I call Mommy. She’s the only sister of my father. She raised me since I was still weaning until I finished my degree. She’s like a mom to me, 2nd to my biological mother. Mommy loves flowers so much. If you will go to our home back in the province, you will see how our house is surrounded with different flowers and plants. While roaming inside the flower dome I made a promise that I will definitely bring my Mommy there.
A year ago, my cousin Joy from my father side who works in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia kept inviting me to visit her and bring Mommy with me. She told me that she will take charge everything while we are in Malaysia. That means all I need to do is purchase our round trip plane tickets. I immediately agreed and from then on I patiently waited for promo fares to Kuala Lumpur. Finally, last January 2017 I found a cheaper rate Manila -Kuala Lumpur and back for only Php8,120 for both Mommy and me. Once booked, I immediately informed my cousin about it and we were both so excited for our upcoming trip.
I told my Joy that we need to cross border to Singapore so that we can bring Mommy to the Flower Dome. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone. Mommy will get to visit my cousin in KL and I get to fulfill my promise to bring Mommy to the Flower Dome. Perfect.
And so the day that I’ve been waiting arrived. Last Aug 11-16, 2017, Mommy and I travelled to Kuala Lumpur plus side trip to Singapore.
Passport stamped very quickly; was never asked any supporting documents unlike my previous trips. I was only asked where I’m working and when will be our return flight. That was it. Off we go to the boarding area. It must be because I’m travelling with a senior citizen.
After almost 4 hours, we safely landed Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 around 5:10pm (KL and Ph have same time zones).
I don’t have Malaysian Ringgit with me; there’s no Ringgit when I tried to exchange PhP to MYR at NAIA 3. After KLIA2 immigration check, we immediately looked for money changer. I only exchanged money enough to pay for the train going to KL Sentral where my cousin waited for us. One way train ticket is 55 Ringgit.
Here are few snaps inside the inside the KLIA Express and some while we waited for it.. This is a train from KLIA 2 to KL Sentral and will only stop at KLIA. Take note, KL has 2 airports – KLIA and KLIA 2.
After 28 minutes, we then arrived at KL Sentral. My cousin was already there all smiles and so happy to see us.
Groufie!!!
We had dinner first and talked about our day. We then discussed whether to go straight to Singapore by midnight or sleep in KL then travel early to SG like we originally planned. We asked Mommy first which one we’ll go for. She decided to go straight to Singapore at midnight, sleep at the bus and by 5 or 6am we’ll be in Singapore.
The seats inside the bus.
This bus is totally different from what we had in Mindanao. Super comfy, reclining seats; 3 seats in one row; fast wifi; and most of all 2 USB ports for gadgets charging in each seat. How’s that? I’ve never tried airplane’s business class; only saw it on pictures and videos. And this bus feels like being in an airplane’s business class minus the flying.
Mommy and Joy lounging so comfortably in their seats.
I loved this bus ride because my mommy loves it. She slept like a baby most of the trip.
Finally, Singapore at 6am. It’s still dark in there even at 6am.
With us below is Hazel; she graciously allowed us to stay at her abode. She fetched us from the bus stop.
After breakfast, Hazel let us sleep till noon. After lunch, we then start our Singapore quick adventure.
